Neighborhood Transformation
HCG implemented sustainable and creative placemaking strategies as a catalyst for community economic vitality. We also developed institutional capacity, resource development and conducted strategic planning. We prioritized stakeholder engagement and public involvement to optimize successful project outcomes. Projects included:
LISC consulting engagement focused on Stakeholder Engagement with the Old Northeast HUD Choice Neighborhood in Kansas City, MO. Coordinated organizing neighborhood association leaders to design processes and facilitated community meetings for transfer of information related to Choice Neighborhoods. Gathered input and developed consensus around a built, transformational catalytic neighborhood project.
Neighborhood Revitalization focused on capacity building. Strategic planning with the Douglass Sumner Neighborhood Association in Kansas City, KS on organizational management. Engaged stakeholders in a planning process to identify priorities in the areas of housing, community safety, health and economic development contributing to the LISC Quality-of-Life Plan.
Cultural Heritage Placemaking assessment for the Cultural Heritage Trail in Memphis, TN. Provided consulting services to Project Advisory Team on cultural heritage preservation, sustainability, organizational structure, and cultural heritage tourism.
Heritage Tourism resource development consulting services provided for the inaugural American Jazz Musicians Walk of Fame in Kansas City, MO writing successful grants of $170,000 to fund the cultural jazz celebration.
